Pothamedu






              Manicured tea gardens, lush coffee plantations and wood-shaded cardamom estates, with stretches of 'potha grass' (from which the name is derived) covered hills all combine to make this place unforgettably.




                     Situated around 6 Km from the city, Pothamedu is one of the major plantation hubs of Munnar. One can find the views of coffee, tea and cardamom plantations excellent from here. It is also an ideal place for trekking and hiking.

Devikulam




                         Located 7 km away from Munnar, it is an idyllic hill station and very popular among the tourist attractions of Munnar featuring sprawling lawns, exotic flora and fauna and the cold mountain air. You will also find Sita Devi Lake with its mineral rich water and pleasing atmosphere and is an ideal picnic spot. This place is very suited for trout fishing.

Pallivasal



                        Pallivasal   is  Situated 8 km away from Munnar, this is the locale of the first Hydro Electric project in Kerala. It is a lovely place. With due permission electricity department one can visit Hydro Electric project on working days.











Mattupetty






                              Mattupetty is famous for its Indo-Swiss livestock project. Situated some 1700 metres high in the Western Ghats, Mattupetty is an ideal place to visit. Over 100 varieties of high yielding livestock are reared here. There is also a dam forming a lake close by the farm. In the Mattupetty dam one can go for speedboat riding or cruise in slow motorboats. 








Eravikulam National Park








                             Eravikulam is one of Kerala’s finest wildlife reserves, and its excellent location, a mere 16 km from Munnar, makes it an unforgettable experience for any lover of the outdoors. The park, a spread of 97 km across Rajamalai Hills, is a combination of grassland and shola forests. The Atlas moth, the largest of its kind in the world, is a unique inhabitant of the park. Other rare species of fauna found here are the Nilgiri Langur, the lion-tailed macaque, leopards, tigers, etc










Malankara Reservoir





Malankara Reservoir (6 kms from Thodupuzha) is Located on the Thodupuzha - Moolavattom road, this artificial lake is accessible by road. The reservoir is ideal for boating and fishing


Lock Heart  Gap






                   Lock heart Gap  is Located at a distance of 13 km from Munnar, this magnificent vantage point lies close to Mattupetty. The place offers some astonishing views of the mist clad endless blue hills covered with lush greenery, winding roads and silver brooks splashing the emerald greenery with white streaks. The place is a perfect venue for adventure tourism and trekking expeditions. The salubrious climate and picturesque surroundings make it one of the most preferred locations to visit in Munnar.
